Android smartphone that can be strapped to your arm

Washington: A new wearable smartphone that features a flexible 6-inch display and can be wrapped around the lower arm has been invented.

The Android based smartphone, called the Portal, is a phone, smartwatch and fitness tracker in one. The water resistant and shatterproof device features 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space.

"The Portal is a smartphone designed for tech enthusiasts, active individuals and on-the-go professionals who are frustrated with bulky, cluttered, non-durable phones that constantly get in the way of their dynamic lifestyles," according to the product description on Indiegogo.

The smartphone developers are currently looking for $300,000 in funding on the website, 'Digital Trends' reported. If the project attracts enough funding, the plan is to start mass production next July.

The prototype hardware is button-free, water-resistant and comes with four cameras and a proprietary flexible 3200mAh battery. Wireless charging is another specification mentioned in the product listing.

सुपरस्टार सलमान खान और फिल्ममेकर सूरज बड़जात्या अपनी फिल्म 'हम आपके हैं कौन' के 20 साल पूरे होने का जश्न मना रहे हैं। इन दिनों ये फिल्म 'प्रेम रतन धन पायो' की शूटिंग में बिज़ी हैं। यह भी सूरज बड़जात्या की ही फिल्म है, जिसमें इन्होंने 'मैंने प्यार किया', 'हम आपके हैं कौन' और 'हम साथ-साथ हैं' के बाद एक बार फिर सलमान खान को साइन किया है।

दो दशक पहले 1994 में आज ही के दिन रिलीज़ हुई 'हम आपके हैं कौन' बॉक्स ऑफिस पर बड़ी हिट साबित हुई थी। फिल्म में सलमान खान के अलावा माधुरी दीक्षित, अनुपम खेर, मोहनीश बहल, रेणुका शहाणे, रीमा लागू और आलोक नाथ ने मुख्य भूमिकाएं निभाई थीं।

एक स्टेटमेंट के अनुसार, सलमान और सूरज 'हम आपके हैं कौन' के 20 साल पूरे होने का जश्न कर्ज़त स्थित एन.डी. स्टूडियों में अपनी फिल्म 'प्रेम रतन धन पायो' के सेट पर ही मना रहे हैं। माधुरी दीक्षित ने इस खास मौके पर ट्विटर पर लिखा, 'वाह वाह सूरज जी, पिक्चर क्या बनाई! राजश्री और परिवार को बधाई हो बधाई। #20YearsOfHAHK अविस्मरणीय पल... सूरज जी, आपने क्या फिल्म बनाई! राजश्री प्रॉडक्शंस को इसके लिए मेरी ओर से बधाई हो।'

माधुरी ने ट्वीट किया, तो भला अनुपम भी पीछे कैसे रहते! अनुपम खेर ने भी ट्विटर पर लिखा, 'मेरी सफलतम फिल्मों में से एक 'हम आपके हैं कौन' की 20वीं वर्षगांठ पर बहुत-बहुत बधाई। ऐसी फिल्म बनाने के लिए आपका धन्यवाद सूरज।'


गौरतलब है, सलमान और सूरज अब 15 सालों बाद किसी फिल्म में साथ काम कर रहे हैं। बता दें कि 'प्रेम रतन धन पायो' भी पारिवारिक फिल्म होगी, जिसमें सलमान के ऑपोज़िट सोनम कपूर होंगी। सलमान और सोनम इससे पहले 'सांवरिया' में साथ काम कर चुके हैं।

Army Chief General Bikram Singh retired on Thursday giving way to General Dalbir Singh Suhag who became India's 26th Army Chief. 59-year-old Suhag was the Vice Chief of the Army Staff.

During the farewell ceremony for the outgoing Army Chief on Thursday, General Bikram Singh said that India has given a befitting reply to Pakistan on the beheading of Indian soldier incident. "Our troops are responding to transgressions. This has been happening for many years. At the centre of any combat power is the soldier and our soldiers are the finest," General Bikram Singh said.

Suhag has now taken over as the Chief of the 1.3 million strong Indian Army. A Gurkha officer who had participated in the 1987 Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) operation in Sri Lanka, General Suhag will have a period of 30 months as the 26th Chief of Army Staff.

He is the son of Subedar Major Ramphal Singh Suhag of 18 Cavalry. As per tradition, generations after generation of the men in the Suhag family have served the country at the borders and the women raised the children back home.

Suhag has taken over after a long span of controversy over his appointment. Suhag was designated as the Army Chief in May by the outgoing UPA government ignoring protests from the former Army chief and now union minister General VK Singh.

Suhag was a Company Commander in 'Op Pawan' in Sri Lanka in 1987 and commanded 53 Infantry Brigade engaged in counter insurgency operations in the Kashmir Valley from July, 2003 to March, 2005. An alumnus of Sainik School, Chittorgarh, he joined NDA in 1970 and was commissioned into 4/5 GR (FF) in June 1974.

The General Officer has attended various career courses in India and abroad which include LDMC at CDM, Secunderabad in 1997-98, NDC Course at New Delhi in 2006, Executive Course in USA in 2005 and Senior Mission Leaders Course (UN) in Kenya in 2007. He holds the distinction of commanding 8 Mountain Division in Kargil from October 2007 to December 2008.

Eftimi photographer Anna (Anna Eftimie) and her husband somehow arranged for his son incredibly creative photo shoot in which the child as if lying on a black school board in some way, but around the whole crayon drawn themed paintings.

The idea for the first picture suggested the husband of Anna. And in the end with the picture painted stork on the board, which carries in its beak their sleeping baby, loved all the friends and relatives. This inspired parents to create similar work.

Anna now offers this idea to its customers. In fact, kids never laid directly on the board. They are placed on something soft, and then combine the resulting photos with funny background story with the help of a graphical editor.
